Free admissionsto museums
Recently, more and more museums areopen to the public free of charge so that they can attract more visitors. However,it has also brought some unexpected problems. Should we carry on the practice? People’sviews vary from one to another.
Those who are in favor of thepolicy think museums belong to the public services, and free admissions willprovide people, especially those who cannot afford the admission, an access toknowledge. But others might not agree, and they are right in the sense. For onething, their main concern is the objects exhibited may get damaged more easily. For another, it becomes a huge economic burden for museums to run as usualwithout any profits from the visitors.
In my opinion, I am absolutely infavor of this practice. The reason lies in the fact that the government shouldprovide more opportunities for citizens to explore and get access to theknowledge and local culture. Moreover, kids and teenagers can learn moreknowledge through vivid way in museums. I hope all the people can share thesame national treasures in more free museums.
