老外听到哪些中式英文是崩溃的?(转自外贸Jackson)
英語(yǔ)學(xué)了很多年的我,常思考一個(gè)問(wèn)題:老外聽(tīng)到Chinglish會(huì)是一種怎樣的體驗(yàn)?是不是跟咱聽(tīng)老外說(shuō)蹩腳中文一樣虐?
然而,就近年情況目測(cè):他們并沒(méi)被我們雷個(gè)外焦里嫩,反而感覺(jué)好極了~
不僅Long time no see(好久不見(jiàn))這樣的中式英語(yǔ)老外能聽(tīng)懂;No zuo no die(不作死就不會(huì)死);You can you up(你行你上啊)。
James Ford:
Sentences that indicate the time something will occur are almost never correctly phrased by Chinese people. The most common statement is, “He will arrive after one hour”. Again, I understand, but a native speaker would never say that.
中國(guó)小伙伴們最愛(ài)在時(shí)間表達(dá)上出錯(cuò),最常見(jiàn)的就是這種:He will arrive after one hour. 只想說(shuō),我明白你的意思,但是英語(yǔ)是母語(yǔ)的人不會(huì)這樣說(shuō)。(應(yīng)該把a(bǔ)fter換成in。)
The other phrase I seem to hear often is, “You have a rest”. While it’s not seriously incorrect is another repeated phrase I hear only in China (Americans would say “go get some rest”).
另一個(gè)常能聽(tīng)到的句子是You have a rest. 也只有在中國(guó)才聽(tīng)過(guò)好幾次,細(xì)想想也不能算有錯(cuò)。如果是讓人去歇歇,美國(guó)人一般會(huì)說(shuō):Go get some rest.
網(wǎng)友Ron TF Lum:
I took Chinese language courses in college so I know the reason for this is because the word used to refer to a person is unisex(不分性別), “ta” or 他. So for Chinese speakers, distinguishing he/she isn’t always an ingrained habit.
我在學(xué)校里學(xué)過(guò)中文,所以知道中文里的“ta”或者“他”可以男女通用,口語(yǔ)中更沒(méi)有第三人稱分男女的習(xí)慣。
As you can imagine, things can get funny when a guy from China describes his date using English.
因此,你就可以想象到一個(gè)中國(guó)小伙用英語(yǔ)描述他對(duì)象的情景了~
網(wǎng)友Ryan Chew:
In English, tenses are indicated by adding word endings, thereby altering the word itself. Chinese words are isolated and do not change meaning. Instead, additional words are postfixed to reflect past tenses.
英語(yǔ)中的時(shí)態(tài)都體現(xiàn)在動(dòng)詞的詞尾上,而中文里沒(méi)有這種詞形變化,要靠補(bǔ)充其他詞來(lái)表示。
舉幾個(gè)栗子,你就明白了:
我吃過(guò)了。
English: I have eaten.
Chinglish: I eat already.
我去過(guò)了。
English: I went there.
Chinglish: I go already.
我見(jiàn)過(guò)她了。
English: I have met her.
Chinglish: I meet her already.
網(wǎng)友Gale Pedowitz:
The most common pattern I’ve noticed is the use of “until now” instead of “so far”. This is an error I see from otherwise advanced non-native speakers who have (otherwise) mastered tense. For example, to express the concept “I have not seen it”:
我見(jiàn)過(guò)最多的錯(cuò)是“until now”和“so far”兩個(gè)不分。(可能是因?yàn)橹形睦锒己汀爸两瘛庇嘘P(guān)的原因。)就連一些英語(yǔ)水平還不錯(cuò)的人也常搞混,比如:Common usage error: I have not seen it until now.
Correct intent: I have not seen it, so far.
The person meant to express “I have never seen it”, but the incorrect use of “until now” means “I am seeing it now for the first time.”
然后,人給我了7、8袋ketchup(番茄醬)。被鄙視了~~(Mashed Potato,土豆泥……)
有次買車票,工作人員問(wèn)我:“One way?” 我回答:“No, two way.” 他又問(wèn)了我?guī)妆?#xff0c;我的答案還是一樣的…… 結(jié)果那人很郁悶地看著我,后來(lái)才反應(yīng)過(guò)來(lái)自己還在中文的思維中。我把他的意思理解為One way=一位?我們是兩個(gè)人,所以two way=兩位……
有次房東問(wèn)我:“Did you eat anything yet?” 我說(shuō):“No.” 她聽(tīng)后重復(fù)了一遍:“So you didn’t eat anything.” 我說(shuō):“Yes…” 房東老太太猶豫了下,又問(wèn):“Did you eat?” 我說(shuō):“No.” 她接著說(shuō):“So you didn’t eat.” 我說(shuō):“Yes.” ……估計(jì)她當(dāng)時(shí)要崩潰了~
我剛來(lái)的時(shí)候鄰居小孩看見(jiàn)我跟我說(shuō)What’s up。我疑惑地朝天上看了半天然后說(shuō)了句up?那孩子頓時(shí)無(wú)語(yǔ)。
你咋不上天啊?
看來(lái),背再多的單詞,不注意英文中的細(xì)節(jié)和老外的習(xí)慣,還是說(shuō)不出地道的英文。下面這幾個(gè)中式英語(yǔ),你躺槍了幾句?
中式英語(yǔ):The price is very suitable for me.
地道英語(yǔ):The price is right.
中式英語(yǔ):How to say?
地道英語(yǔ):How do you say this in English?
中式英語(yǔ):I haven’t English name.
地道英語(yǔ):I don’t have an English name.
中式英語(yǔ):I think I can’t.
地道英語(yǔ):I don’t think I can.
中式英語(yǔ):I don’t dance well too.
地道英語(yǔ):I am not a very good dancer either.
總結(jié)
